Democracy is a system under which the citizens of the
country elect a representative by their franchise. In a democracy there is
neither a king nor a slave. In a democracy, every person has the right to have
his say. International Day of Democracy is celebrated every year on 15
September. Giving its definition, the famous thinker Abraham Lincoln said that
democracy is the rule of the people, for the people and by the people.
Democracy Day is mainly celebrated with the aim of promoting democracy all over
the world.
International Democracy day
International Day of Democracy was initiated by the United
Nations General Assembly in 2007.
There are two systems of democracy in the whole world. One
is the parliamentary system of government and the other is the presidential
system. In these systems, the people exercise their franchise and elect their
representative for their country, who honestly works for the people.
The country became independent in 1947, now after this the Constituent Assembly unanimously expressed its desire to make a democratic country, the first elections were held in 1951-1952. Democracy is the link due to which the country is tied in one thread even after so much diversity. The most important thing about democracy is that here people can keep their point openly to the government. They can express their protest peacefully.
